We decided to try BJ’s on a whim while searching for a dinner during social distancing. The restaurant was excellent about keeping diners spread out and keeping things sanitized. We got a tiny table with a beautiful view outside, and we both ordered the pair of crab cakes. The crab cakes were amazing, and a bargain for anywhere, especially the beach. Service was fine, our waitress was on her second day on the job. Only critique was that the Caesar salad was not very traditional. It was OK, but with sweet croutons, no Parmesan, and a vinaigrette that was closer to Italian dressing, I would have expected some type of caveat in the menu or from the waitress. Diners at a nearby table complained and were told it was “the restaurant’s take on a Caesar.” We didn’t mind, but it wasn’t really Caesar in our opinion either (other than the romaine). Overall it was a nice meal with a nice view at a nice price…at a time when outdoor dining is a premium!
